IChemE Lees Medal Ceremony

I was delighted and honoured to receive two awards at the IChemE Conferring Ceremony at Prince Philip House in London on Wednesday 3 June, 2026.
I had already been informed that I would be receiving the Lees Medal for my article in IChemE’s Loss Prevention Bulletin, entitled “It’s OK, We’ve Got a Backup”. That recognition alone was a great honour, so receiving a Certificate of Appreciation and Gratitude as well came as a complete surprise.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the Loss Prevention Bulletin panel and reviewing papers for the Hazards Conference as part of the Technical Committee. These roles provide a constant opportunity to learn from others, and it has been a privilege to work alongside such knowledgeable and dedicated colleagues.
My sincere thanks to IChemE for this recognition and many congratulations to all the other award winners. https://www.icheme.org/about-us/news-releases/icheme-announces-winners-of-2026-medals-and-prizes/
The only disappointment of the day? Missing a glimpse of the King as he was driven past just a few minutes before the ceremony began!
